  10. Christian's definitions used several terms that haven't been defined.
  11. Below are candidate definitions for these new terms. They are
  12. straight-forward, except perhaps for bitemporal interval, which is
  13. restricted to be a rectangle.

  16. that {\em valid-time}, {\em transaction-time}, and {\em bitemporal}
  17. can modify.
